Frequently asked questions
Why does my phone photo appear sideways on my computer?
Phones store an EXIF orientation flag instead of physically rotating pixels. Some apps ignore that flag. This tool rotates the actual pixels, so the image looks right everywhere.
What is the difference between rotating and flipping?
Rotating turns the image around its center in 90° steps. Flipping mirrors it — horizontal flip swaps left and right (like a mirror), vertical flip swaps top and bottom.
Does rotating lose quality?
90° rotations and flips are lossless operations on pixels. Only re-encoding to JPG applies compression, and we use a high quality setting (92%).
